And even after Beck had quit the 1970s DC SHAZAM! reboot of the Marvel Family, the artist kept on drawing the signature characters for commissioned pieces and personal enjoyment. Beck, after all, had done more than any other Fawcett talent to define the tone and technique of the midcentury's Captain Marvel books. This carefully arrayed composition depicts the principals (in civilian and costumed identities) and key supporting players, including the wizard Shazam, menacing Doctor Thaddeus B. Sivana, and his daughter Beautia Sivana. Ink and opaque watercolors on art board with an image area of 17" x 23", glass-framed to 20.5" x 26.25". In Excellent condition.
