Boris Vallejo - Warrior Woman Painting Original Art (1978). This amazing and gorgeous piece is actually an unfinished work by Vallejo! What you see is the sepia-toned underpainting that he used to layout the work and place the relevant linework and shadows. The next step would have been to cover this with a glaze, and then build the oil painting on top of that. This piece clearly shows that even Vallejo's underpainting work is incredible detailed and rich. It's a stunning piece as-is, created in sepia paint and wash over graphite on illustration board. Signed and dated in the lower right of the 11" x 16.5" image area. Matted to 18" x 24". In Excellent condition.Auction Info
