Description
Jack Kirby and Joe Simon (attributed) Alarming Tales #1 Unused Cover Original Art (Harvey, 1957). This dynamic cover was created by the Kirby/Simon team for the story "Donnegan's Daffy Chair". Alarming Tales #1 was released the same month as Black Cat Mystery #59. This unpublished original art was created twice-up scale in ink and red ink over graphite with an image area of 12" x 18". The Black Cat logo and all trade dressing are modern-day replacement stats affixed to the art board. Signed by Joe Simon in the lower margin "For Simon & Kirby". The toned art has been skimmed off of the original illustration board and affixed to a new sheet of Bristol board for a backing. In Very Good condition.More information about Jack Kirby.
