Description

Charles Addams The New Yorker Single Panel Gag Comic Strip Original Art (New Yorker, 1936). The wicked sense of humor of Chas Addams delighted many of the "upstanding" readers of The New Yorker, and inspired the Addams Family TV and movie franchises. In this silly single panel, it appears as if Madame Sidonia is reciting the obvious requirements of a boy scout. Gag first appeared in page 16 the October 17, 1936 issue of The New Yorker and was later published in the Addams anthology titled Drawn & Quartered (Random House, 1942). Artwork was composed in ink over graphite on textured paper, which has been adhered to board, with an image area of 6" x 7.25". Toning, glue residue staining along margins, and some smudging/handling wear. In Good condition. Also includes letter and envelope written by Addams to a friend.
