Description

The Reluctant Dragon Donald Duck "Gallery of Old Masters" Vintage Print Group (Walt Disney, 1941). A segment of this feature compilation film included a tour of the Disney Studios. Right before "How to Ride a Horse" is shown in the film, Ward Kimball meets Robert Benchley to show him how to animate Goofy. On the walls of his office is a "Gallery of Old Masters" -- a series of Donald Duck paintings spoofing classic Old Masters paintings. This is a rarely seen set of 13" x 10" Studio Photographs of those Donald Duck Old Masters. Most have a typed paper description attached en verso. The photos include parodies of Whistler's Mother, Picasso, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Gauguin, and more. Also included in the group are three Marc Davis concept paintings from Bambi and two publicity photos from Dumbo. A magnificent lot of 22 Disney Studio B&W photo prints on heavy paper, all in Fine condition.
