Description
Cinderella Production Cel with Master Production Background (Walt Disney, 1950). "Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come smiling through." Near the start of this classic Disney feature, Cinderella wakes with the help of the birds and mice who share her lonely tower bedroom. The original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of the lovely Cinderella can be seen around the 4:51 minute mark in the film. It's a remarkable image that measures 6.25" x 8.5" on a 12 field cel which includes the character along with her blanket and pillow. The cel is presented over an original hand-painted production background from just moments later in the scene at the 6:11 mark when she makes her bed. The background is marked 2063 Scene 54 Seq 01.2. Both cel and background, though not from the exact same scene, work almost seamlessly together. Released to rave reviews, Cinderella received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Music, Original Song for "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo". The film's financial success was second only to Snow White, breathing new life into the studio. The cel is attached to the background with clear tape and the setup is matted with an opening of 7" x 11" and an overall size of 14" x 18".
