Description

Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Coach and Castle Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1959). Eyvind Earle's dreamlike vistas make every concept painting he created for Disney a mysteriously beautiful mini-masterpiece. This lush painting of the Royal Coach with a castle in the faraway background is certainly no exception. Castles are very important reoccurring motifs in Disney's classic animated films, and the one from this film served as inspiration for the Disneyland theme park's most prominent feature, the aptly-named Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Any and all artwork that inspired the Disneyland Castle is highly treasured by collectors. This gorgeous painting by Mr. Eyvind Earle (1916 - 2000), who served as Color Stylist and Art Director for Sleeping Beauty, is in gouache on illustration board measuring a pleasing 10" x 5". The art is in a floating mat and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 18" x 13.25". Fine condition with pinholes in all four corners.
