Description
Famous Funnies (Series 1) #1 (Eastern Color, 1934) CGC FR/GD 1.5 Light tan to off-white pages. Considered to be the very first comic book to have ever been sold on a newsstand. Gerber gives this issue a virtually unheard of rating of "10" (or "unique") on the Photo-Journal Guide to Comics' Scarcity Index. This is just the third blue label CGC copy we have ever offered, and of those three it has the highest grade. In fact, CGC has never certified an unrestored copy with a grade higher than VG+! Issue #1 is currently listed on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Overstreet 2023 GD 2.0 value = $7,500. CGC census 5/24: 1 in 1.5, 6 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
