Description
Chun King Chow Mein Hour Script, Photos, and Awards Group (1961). Stan Freberg writes in his book "As my reputation as a (problem) solver in advertising became known, more and more big agencies began calling me as a consultant." One of Stan Freberg's legendary campaigns was for Jeno Paulicci, the owner of Chun King Chinese Food. This campaign is documented in detail in Stan's book and begins on page 174 with the chapter called "If You Can Sell Canned Chow Mein, You Can Sell Anything." The success of this campaign resulted in the company president having to pull Stan in a rickshaw down La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles (a picture of this is in the book). This is a massive grouping that showcases why Stan Freberg is credited with being the man who brought comedy to advertising. Included are Stan Freberg's hand-typed 114 page script for The Chun King Chow Mein Hour, as well as over 30 photos from the famous "Nine Out of Ten Doctors Prefer Chun King Chow Mein" campaign with Jesse White. This very famous campaign won numerous awards and accolades for Stan Freberg. In this lot is the Award for this campaign from "The American TV Commercials Festival" as well as an award from the "Second Annual Exhibition of Communications."
