Description

Donald Duck with Huey, Dewey, and Louie Color Model Cel (Walt Disney, 1970). Huey, Dewey, and Louie are showing off while Donald suffers in this comical hand-painted color model of the four fabulous ducks. Paul Murry created the original 1957 cover that inspired the production of this piece made 13 years later as a "Bonus: Giant Poster Inside" for Walt Disney Comics and Stories issue 356 in 1970. Fallen and bruised, Donald takes up approximately 5.75" x 7.25" of space, nicely filling the composition, with his carefree nephews skating at 2.75" tall. The 6.75" x 9.75" cel is affixed to an 8" x 12.25" sheet with intricate notation on color codes. As a color model the paint was applied loosely with some resulting smudging on the piece. The page and tape have age-toning with the aged paper showing moderate edgewear from handling, including a small tear on the top left of the page. In Fair condition.
