Description
Carl Barks Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge: King Solomon's Mines Cover Preliminary Original Art (Gladstone, 1987). Uncle Scrooge #19 Rejected Cover Design Original Art (1956). This and our following lot are two cover designs Barks submitted, tying in with the "King Solomon's Mines" adventure story. Western Publishing chose to go with a humorous "snake charmer" cover instead. Rendered in graphite on paper with an image area of 7" x 10", matted and glass-front framed at 12.5" x 15.75". The toned paper has light creasing and handling wear, and is signed by Barks at the bottom. The frame has light wear. Overall, in Very Good condition.More Information: EDIT: Added history.
