Description

The Autograph Hound Pair of Original Drawings Production Drawings (Walt Disney, 1939). This fantastic pair of original production drawings features caricatures of Hollywood legends Greta Garbo and Clark Gable from Walt Disney's The Autograph Hound (1939). Illustrated in graphite and color pencil on 12-field, 5-peghole animation paper, these drawings are numbered 65 (Greta Garbo) and 115 (Clark Gable). Directed by Jack King, the short follows Donald Duck as he sneaks onto a Hollywood studio lot, determined to collect celebrity autographs. In this delightful scene, Greta Garbo and Clark Gable are in the middle of filming a romantic moment, with Garbo passionately kissing Gable. However, when she hears the news that Donald Duck is on the lot, she immediately drops the Hollywood icon and wipes her mouth-eager to get an autograph from the real star! This hilarious moment is part of the film's grand finale, where Shirley Temple's endorsement of Donald leads to a mob of celebrities clamoring for his signature. The animation team included Disney Legend Ward Kimball, one of "Walt's Nine Old Men". This production-used artwork exhibits age-related toning, reinforced pegholes, and some light smudging. A rare and delightful find for vintage animation collectors, these drawings remain in Good condition!
