Description
Gary Ruddell - Bud Light Promotional Poster Painting Original Art (Anheuser-Busch, c. 1980s). This promotional painting was created by noted SF and Fantasy book cover artist Gary Ruddell, an American artist best known for his cover paintings for science fiction and fantasy novels. There are a number of sly references to science fiction and fantasy, including a Cylon from "Battlestar Galactica," the spacesuit and Space Jockey character design from the film "Alien," the Robot from "Lost In Space" (having been slightly retooled) is also featured as is Thulsa Doom's helmet from "Conan The Barbarian," an alien in the background that resembles "The Thing" and various other alien creatures in an attempt to evoke the Cantina scene from "Star Wars." The character holding the Bud Light can is dressed as Schwarzenegger's Terminator, but bears a strong resemblance to 1980's actor Michael Beck. Produced in oil on canvas affixed to Masonite, framed out to 27" x 21". In Excellent condition.Auction Info
