Description

Steve Rude Future Quest Presents #1 Cover Painting Preliminary Original Art (DC, 2017). Superhero and late-night talk show host Space Ghost unleashes an energy blast with his signature Power Bands, while his sidekicks Jan, Jace, their pet monkey Blip, and the Phantom Cruiser soar in the background. This dynamic artwork is a discarded preliminary painting by artist Steve Rude, created for what would eventually become cover #1B of Future Quest Presents. Adding to the excitement, the piece also features portraits of iconic villains, including Moltar, looming behind the heroes. Rendered with colored pencil and watercolor on Bristol board with a large image area of approximately 17" x 27", the piece is unfinished and has blue painter's tape along the edges. The art has rippling and handling wear, and the back is rough with residue stains from being separated from another board. In Very Good condition, given the unfinished nature of the piece.
