Description

Mort Drucker MAD #216 "Star Blecch, The (Gacck!) Motion Picture" Complete 7-Page Story Original Art (EC, 1980). Warp speed into hilarity with this MADcap sendup of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), courtesy of usual gang members Dick DeBartolo and Mort Drucker, straight from the Another Waste of Space Dept.! No one escapes their satirical scanners -- not Captain Kirk, Spock, Sulu, Uhura, Scotty, or even the ship itself. Loaded with Easter eggs (including a cheeky Star Wars cameo), this parody taps into MAD's long-running tradition of movie spoofs -- one of the most beloved features in the magazine's history -- and boldly goes where no joke has gone before. Created in ink, marker, and wash over graphite on Bristol boards with image areas from 17.25" x 17.25" to 17.5" x 22". The boards range from heavy to light toning, with some exhibiting frame and dust shadows. Whiteout corrections, smudging, production tape, blue pencil editorial marks, stat text paste-ups, minor spot staining, Rubylith overlays taped to the boards, and handling wear. Signed by Drucker in the lower center image area on Page 1. Overall in Very Good condition.
