Richard F. Outcault Buster Brown Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 12-20-1916 with Letter of Provenance (Newspaper Feature Service, 1916). A funny Sunday featuring some lovely detail work in many of the panels, and of course, Buster's beautiful mother. Created in ink and partial watercolor over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 18.75" x 23". As was common practice at the time, the characters, scenes, and objects were only colored in their first appearance in the Sunday as a reference for the printer to follow on subsequent panels. Signed in the last panel. Matted to 23.75" x 28.75". Toned, with minor soiling and pinholes. Comes with a Letter of Provenance dated 1990 from R. F. Outcault's grandson John F. Outcault. Both letter and art are in Very Good condition.
