Description

Dick Sprang - Batman Specialty Illustration Original Art (undated). One of the best to ever draw the Bat, Golden Age legend Dick Sprang presents a crisp headshot of the Caped Crusader with this specialty illustration. Sprang's work on Batman, the Batman newspaper strip, and the Batman/Superman team-up stories in World's Finest Comics helped cement the look of Golden Age Batman, and he perfectly captures that quintessential portrayal with this piece. Perhaps the most defining feature of Sprang's Batman was the strong, square chin -- prominently featured here.
Crafted in ink with some white paint highlights over graphite, with an approximate image area of 9" x 11". The piece has been matted and Plexiglas-front framed to a total size of 15.25" x 17.25". Signed and personalized just below the main image. Presents in Excellent condition.
From the Keif Fromm Estate.
