Description

Hal Foster Prince Valiant #1393 Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-20-63 (King Features Syndicate, 1963). Titled "A Chilly Picnic", this huge Sunday features some fantastic panels! Hal Foster worked at such a large scale that any single tier of Prince Valiant was larger than entire Sunday features of other comic strips of the time. We love that first panel with the "White Horse Vale". Prince Gawain is looking spiffy behind King Arthur in Panel 4. Created in ink over graphite on two sections of Bristol board with a combined image area of 23" x 34". The logo in Panel 1 is a printed paste-up that has discolored. All text is hand-lettered paste-up. There are some red ink key lines, but not very many on this Sunday. The lightly toned board is glass front framed to 27" x 38". In Very good condition.
