Description

Dave Cockrum and Bob Wiacek Uncanny X-Men #162 Story Page 12 Original Art (Marvel, 1982). Dave Cockrum was the artistic force behind the re-emergence of the X-Men, helping to co-create the new team with Len Wein in the mid-70s. After leaving the title in 1977, Cockrum returned after John Byrne departed in 1981, and once again Cockrum brought his unique vision to Marvel's flagship mutant book. This page features Wolverine experiencing a disturbing memory of a Shi'ar ceremony involving him, Kitty Pryde, and the Brood Queen. Ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Slight toning, production trimmed corners, tape on the top edge, and an abrasion on the bottom edge, marginal notes, rippling, with light staining and smudging/handling wear. Signed by Cockrum at the bottom, and by writer Chris Claremont at the top. In Very Good condition. As a bonus, Cockrum created a fun illustration on the back -- "Globetrotters From Mars!"
