Description
Lady and the Tramp Lady Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1955). "That was before..." "Before what?" Lady eagerly listens to her friend Jock in this charming animation drawing from the acclaimed dog romance. From the 1955 classic Lady and the Tramp, Lady was animated by a few of Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men", including Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas, and Milt Kahl. With the inspiration of her design being from storyman Joe Grant's own Springer Spaniel named Lady. This drawing resembles Lady as seen near the 12:18 timestamp with slight difference in her collar and chest. It is likely a rough or clean-up animation made for the animation directors' approval prior to the final tie-down drawing. Rendered delicately in graphite pencil and noted A39 on the bottom right corner. Lady measures approximately 5" x 5.5" on the 16 field 3-peg hole page. With light age-related toning, minor edge and handling wear, light wrinkling to the page that partially crosses Lady's ear and front leg, and minor water damage on the bottom right corner which doesn't affect the image of Lady.
