Description
Edgar Church "The Poster" Painting Original Art (c. 1920s). Commercial artist Edgar Church produced a wide range of art for many reasons. We have seen at least three of his pieces with "The Poster" as a header, so this could have been a magazine cover design. Church came to attention when his collection of art-reference comic books (over 20,000 Golden Age books from 1937-54) were purchased by the owner of Mile High Comics. These were subsequently graded with many ranking as the highest graded copy of those issues. This piece is fully rendered in paint with an image area of 4.5" x 7". It is glass front framed in the original frame Church put it in, and it is in Excellent condition.Auction Info
