Description
Adam Kubert Wolverine #97 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1996). Video screens illuminate an explosive encounter between Wolverine and Chimera, an inter-dimensional pirate with a bad attitude, with the X-Men's fiercest member struggling to land a blow with his adamantium claws. Detailed notes in the margins clarify that the screens should feature "quasi-Wolvie" heads (not included here) and that the uneven shadows on the combatants are an intentional effect of the screens' intended brightness. Ably rendered by Adam Kubert in ink over graphite on a Marvel Comics Bristol board with a 10" x 15.25" image area. Chimera's mask is a paste-up correction with whiteout, extensive marginal notes, and handling wear. Kubert has inscribed and signed the art in the lower margin.
