Rob Liefeld The New Mutants #98 Story Page 4 Gideon Original Art (Marvel, 1991). First appearance of fan-favorite villain, Gideon! Well, that could have been the case, if not for the issue featuring another first appearance... that of the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool! Gideon was understandably overlooked and denied a fair chance of becoming an evil force to be reckoned with in the Marvel Universe. Just look at how skillfully he handles combat robots in a simulation, masterful! Who knows, maybe Marvel has something in store for this ponytailed powerhouse. And we don't want to forget to mention the dynamic battle page features the art of co-creator and Image co-founder Rob Liefeld, rendered in ink and marker over graphite on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". Slight toning, production punched holes in the side margins, ink fading, whiteout corrections, taped page number paste-up at the bottom, with light smudging and edge/handling wear.
