Description

Burne Hogarth Tarzan #989 Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-19-50 (United Feature Syndicate, 1950). The Witch Doctor, Chaka, has a fool-proof plan to off Tarzan... knocking him unconscious and drawing an invisible snake around Tarzan's neck! ...Why not just kill him while he sleeps? Whatever, it's a gorgeous example of Burne Hogarth's detailed artwork. Created in ink over graphite on two sections of Bristol board with a combined image area of 27.5" x 18.5". The boards are joined together on the reverse. The paste-up logo is missing, leaving glue and part of the logo there. The boards have handling wear, stains, and are very toned. In Good condition. Comes with a printed logo from a different Sunday.
