Description

Woodland Café Trio of Original Vintage Production Drawings (Walt Disney, 1937). This fantastic trio of original production drawings from Woodland Café (1937) features two jitterbugging bugs mid-dance, capturing the lively energy and jazz-infused spirit of this Silly Symphony classic. Directed by Wilfred Jackson and written by Bianca Majolie, Woodland Café transports audiences to a nightclub run entirely by insects, where snails, fireflies, and beetles swing to a swinging orchestra with comical results. The Silly Symphony series was Walt Disney's experimental playground, allowing his animators to refine groundbreaking techniques in Technicolor, special effects, and multiplane camera work, all of which later became crucial to Disney's feature-length films. Illustrated in graphite with color pencil on 12-field, 5-peghole animation paper, these three extraordinary vintage drawings are numbered 33, 37, and 95. The short showcased brilliant animation by Ward Kimball, one of "Walt's Nine Old Men", along with Disney Legend Jack Hannah. Exhibiting age-related toning and edge wear, these vintage production drawings remain in Good condition-a true treasure for Silly Symphony collectors!
