Description

Dave Cockrum and Dan Green The X-Men #107 Story Page 12 Original Art (Marvel, 1977). From the classic X-Men issue in which the team takes a portal into space to help save the Shi'ar princess, Lilandra. A cosmic adventure featuring the first appearance of the Imperial Guard and some members of the Starjammers. This page has Lilandra telling the X-Men about the events that led up to the current conflict, including cameos from Havok, Polaris, Eric the Red, Magneto, Juggernaut, Black Tom, and Firelord, before being interrupted by Gladiator and other members of the Guard. Ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10.25" x 15". Slight toning, production trimmed top corners and left side edge, marginal notes, tape residue staining on the top and bottom edges, with oil staining and smudging/handling wear. Not only is this piece signed by Cockrum in the bottom margin, but Cockrum created a hilarious and unexpected illustration on the back featuring two "merry mutants" that has to be seen to be believed! In Very Good condition.
