Description

Charles Schulz Peanuts Early Great Pumpkin Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-27-61 (United Feature Syndicate, 1961). For many Baby Boomers, Halloween and Peanuts go together almost as much as older traditions such as trick-or-treating and outrageous costumes, thanks to the beloved 1966 TV special, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. As any true-believer knows (thanks to Linus), on Halloween night, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch he deems the most sincere. Then the Great Pumpkin flies through the air delivering toys to all the good kids in the world. This early Great Pumpkin daily appeared five years before the TV show, and it is only the second "night time" Peanuts daily we have offered to date. The image area of this iconic piece of Americana measures approximately 27" x 5.5". The borders of this daily were trimmed closely to the art area, and the art has been professionally cleaned and restored to Excellent condition.
