Dave Gibbons and John Higgins Watchmen #3 Story Page 13 Original Art and Production Color Guide (DC, 1986). Dr. Manhattan (previously known as Dr. Jonathan Osterman) is getting grilled on a TV interview, as Dan Dreiberg(aka Nite Owl) and Laurie Juspeczyk (aka Silk Spectre) are getting jumped in an alley by would-be muggers. The juxtaposition of the interview with a mugging is a subtle but effective metaphor for what is happening to Jon. We are also offering the following two pages of this story as separate lots in the sale. Created by Dave Gibbons in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.75". The board is very toned, with whiteout art clean-ups. The page is accompanied by the production color guide created by John Higgins by photocopying the Dave Gibbons linework onto 8.25" x 11.75" paper and hand-coloring with watercolors.
