Description

Hal Foster Tarzan Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-2-36 (United Feature Syndicate, 1936). The supreme, pioneering action-adventure cartooning talent of Hal Foster is showcased in this superb Tarzan Sunday. Every panel of this peak-period ink on Bristol episode is a masterwork of jungle action composition and figure drawing. Many comic art fans feel that the Foster Tarzans have a spontaneity and dynamism that stands in stark contrast to the more formal and staid qualities of his Prince Valiant Sundays. Any Hal Foster collector should consider acquiring examples of both features to be essential. Titled "Villainy," this strip has an image area that measures approximately 19.5" x 26.5". The title logo is a recent replacement. This piece from the Golden Era of adventure comic strips has some overall paper aging, scattered staining, and small tears in its margins; otherwise, it's in Very Good condition.
