Description

Greg Irons Skull Comics #1 "Head Before Tail!" Complete 8-Page Story Original Art (Rip Off Press, 1970). Skull Comics was the Underground Comix artist's loving tribute to EC Horror comics of the 1950s. "Head Before Tail" was the lead-off story from the first issue, written and drawn by the late, great Greg Irons. Mr. Irons is one of the unsung masters of the form, a tattoo artist who had a very distinctive comic art style all his own. In this occult-themed eight-pager, young Petaluma Fleshmann, bored with everyday life, answers an ad for help with a "Black Mass." Big mistake! All the pages feature great stylized art by Mr. Irons. The art is in ink and whiteout/white paint with Zipatone shading film on Bristol board. Per-page image size averages 6.75" x 10.5". Slight handling wear, with a few very minor stains; Very Good overall condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
