Description

Gene Colan and Mike Esposito (as Mickey Demeo) Marvel Super-Heroes #18 Guardians of the Galaxy First Appearance Issue Story Page 19 Original Art (Marvel, 1969). The first page to feature all four founding members of the Guardians of the Galaxy! Yondu and Vance Astro attack Charlie-27 and Martinex, mistaking them for Badoon. Gene Colan's masterful strokes and slanted panels heighten the cosmic chaos of this historic first meeting. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Signed by Colan in the lower margin. Slight toning, pinhole in the top margin, marginal notes, "continued ..." stat paste-up in the lower margin, light handling wear, whiteout text corrections, and adhesive residue on the top and bottom margins. In Very Good condition.
