Description

Gil Kane and Klaus Janson Giant-Size X-Men #2 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1975). This detailed image of the original five X-Men battling the mutant-hunting Sentinels delivers the raw intensity such a scene demands: Cyclops cradles the unconscious Marvel Girl (Jean Grey) as he unleashes an optic blast, Beast grimaces while delivering a powerful roundhouse, and Angel and Iceman combine their strength to take down their mechanical foes. Released just as the international team introduced in Giant-Size X-Men #1 was beginning to gain momentum in their monthly debut in The X-Men #94, this O5-starring, Sentinel-focused "annual collection" reminded fans, new and old, that despite the #1 on that Giant-Size issue, the X-Men's adventures neither began nor ended there. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with a 9.75" x 15" image area. Stat title and header paste-ups are present, along with extensive residue stains in the margins, some of which have seeped into the image area. Tape and tape pulls in the margins, toning, marginal notes, and handling wear. Signed at the top right by Stan Lee, and presenting in Very Good condition.
