Description

Captain America Comics #11 (Timely, 1942) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white pages. The Nazis were lying low this month, so Cap and Bucky decided to address hillbilly crime. Avison and Shores' cover exposes the obscure rural problem here, and with Cap addressing same, the good folk of Appalachia rested easier. Mike Sekowsky provided the interior art. To call this a stunning copy is an understatement. Finding these early issues of Cap in super-high grades is hard enough, and outside of pedigreed collections it's almost impossible. This beautiful copy, with its deep colors and nice cover gloss, is the highest-graded copy of this issue certified by CGC to date (the runner-up is an 8.5). Overstreet 2010 NM- 9.2 value = $8,100. CGC census 4/11: 1 in 9.6, none higher.
