Description
John Buscema Thor Annual #5 Original Art Splash Page (Marvel, 1976). Clashes between Thor and Hercules are always classics! Note that page one of the printed comic has additional details around the edges that don't appear on this art. That and the fact that this is on paper, not art board, makes us suspect this art was originally done for another project and then re-used and added to for the annual. While "Marvel Preview #3" is penciled at the top, this image does not appear in that magazine, nor is it in issue #10 of that title which was a Thor issue. We're also inclined to think that someone other than Tony DeZuniga (who inked the rest of the annual) was the inker of this page. Regardless, it's a superb battle scene with the powerful poses Buscema is known for. The back bears the usual Marvel copyright stamp identifying the art as being from Annual #5. This page has an image area of 10.25" x 15". It appears that the page may have been bleached. There are three pieces of tape on the back, one sealing a small tear.
