Description
Detective Comics #114 Double Cover - The Promise Collection Pedigree (DC, 1946) CGC NM/MT 9.8 Off-white to white pages. The black-background, on this Win Mortimer Joker cover featuring Batman and Robin, is notorious for showing even the slightest of blemishes, but the good folks over at CGC couldn't seem to find any on this tied-for-highest-grade (with Edgar Church's copy) NM/MT 9.8 copy. The double cover here just pushes this copy right on past the Mile High copy in desirability. The Boy Commandos star in a backup feature with art by Curt Swan. To date, just six other copies have achieved CGC grades higher than VF 8.0, consequently, we expect great things from this book when we auction it! CGC notes, "Double Cover: 1st cover 9.4, interior cover 9.8." Overstreet 2022 NM- 9.2 value = $5,000. CGC census 3/23: 2 in 9.8, none higher.CGC Grader Notes:
