Jack Davis MAD #15 Complete 7-Page Story "Captain TVideo!" Original Art (EC, 1954). From the T.V. Dept.: Captain Video gets blasted in this seven-page space-farce that is as much a parody of the TV show as it is of EC Comics' own sci-fi line! Illustrated by the incomparable Jack Davis, and written by the incomprehensible Harvey Kurtzman, this story was very cleverly created in ink with Zipatone over graphite on Duotone board, with a top layer paper mask, with an image area of 13" x 18". The Zipatone on the artwork replicated the effect of the horizontal scan lines. The cut-out panels in the paper mask replicated the viewer's home TV with which this "show" was watched. We told you... clever! Signed by Davis in Panel 1. The toned boards have a bit of glue residue where some of the mask was pasted down. In Very Good condition.More information about Jack Davis.
