Sleeping Beauty Minstrel Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1959). King Hubert feels like celebrating early while waiting for Aurora to arrive at the castle. He has the minstrel serve him and King Stefan glasses of wine that he's been saving. The minstrel sneaks more than a few drinks without either of them knowing. This terrific 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing, done in graphite with color pencil, features the servant after one of those drinks. It shows the moment after he nods to the two kings, agreeing with the remark that it's an "excellent vintage". He is caught a little off guard by the sudden hiccup. It can be found at about 41:09 after the two kings toast with their wine glasses. The figure measures about 7.75'' x 6.5'' and the paper is labeled 119. Minor age-related toning, faint handling and edge wear, and minor superficial wrinkles. Very Good condition overall.Auction Info
