Description
Savings Soldier Cashman Shampur Production Cel with Master Background (Toei Animation, 1997). "Could you please do me a favor? That gold necklace..." After her gold necklace and earrings were used to fuel Cashman's ship, Shampur comes to her boyfriend Chapat, hoping he will buy her a new set. The charming Shampur has a request in this incredibly rare hand-painted production cel from the OVA Savings Soldier Cashman. The 15-minute OVA, based on the manga by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, showcased the creator's more comical side, telling the adventures of Jira, a police alien from Bireijon who gets stranded on planet Earth. Now, assuming the identity of Chapat, Jiora works as the superhero Cashman, asking for money in exchange for his heroic acts. These funds are collected by Cashan with the hopes of buying the gold necessary for his spaceship to fly back home. Seen at the 13:30 mark of the OVA, this two-layer 12-field production cel has Shampur in her work uniform measuring an image size of 7.75" x 7.5". The cel is showcased on a Master background rendered in gouache on a 10.5" x 9.25" background board, seen at the 5:58 timestamp. The cel shows some normal age-related fading on the linework and has its layers adhered, with the trimmed background stuck to the back of the cel.
