Description
SpongeBob SquarePants Mr. Krabs Production Cel (Nickelodeon, c. 1999-2001). Uh oh, someone must have asked for a refund or broken Pearl's heart because Mr. Krabs is looking downright hysterical in this original production cel from one of the last Nicktoons to premiere in the 1990s, SpongeBob SquarePants. This mega-popular Nickelodeon animated series (the fourth-longest running American animated series ever, currently with 15 seasons) about an undersea sponge and his friends was in fact created by a marine science teacher, Stephen Hillenburg. Here's a fantastic large image of SpongeBob's boss Mr. Krabs from Season 1, which was the only season to be traditionally cel animated. Spanning nearly the full height of the cel, the frantic restaurant owner has been hand-painted to an impressively large character size of 6.25" x 8.25" with only his claws and legs out of frame. The 12 field cel is numbered in the lower right and has been paired with a print background for display purposes; a CoA is also included. With typical handling and edge wear including minor linework wear with evidence of restoration, faint paint bleeding to the teeth, and a small tear to the lower edge, overall this frenzied display is in Good condition.Auction Info
