Brand Spanking New! Doug Main Cast Pan Color Model Cel Signed by Jim Jinkins (ABC, c. 1996). From the personal collection of series creator Jim Jinkins comes this outstanding, signed pan color model cel featuring the main cast of Doug from the launch of ABC's Brand Spanking New! seasons. Originally premiering as the first Nicktoon in August 1991, the series later was picked up by Disney in 1996 for three additional seasons on ABC. These new seasons advanced the characters in age and grade by one year while also updating their character designs and wardrobes. Color model cels like this help to ensure consistency across a production, and are especially useful after major updates such as in Doug's transition from the Nickelodeon era to the ABC era; this particular color model also functions as a size comparison sheet. Hand-painted to full-figures, the pan cel features Judy Funnie, Beebe Bluff, Skeeter Valentine, Doug Funnie, Porkchop, Patti Mayonnaise, Roger Klotz, and Stinky (Roger's cat) ranging in height from 1.25" to 4" tall with the series' logo including a pasted-on element found at the center of the top edge and Jinkins' signature in the lower right. The cel has been matted to an overall size of 22" x 14" with an aperture of 16" x 8.25"; a Jim Jinkins CoA is also included. With typical handling and edge wear including faint wear to the signature, overall this incredible color model cel is in Very Good condition.From the Jim Jinkins Collection.
