Description

Mickey's Rival Mortimer Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936). "For you, seƱorita, I will fight the bull. Yes? No?" Mortimer playfully asks Minnie, seeking her approval, before pulling the picnic blanket from underneath them. He then drapes it over his shoulders and dances, much to Minnie's delight, making Mickey increasingly jealous. This moment can be found at about 3:57. The 1936 theatrical short was directed by Graham Heid (1909 - 1976) and Wilfred Jackson (1906 - 1988). It involved Mickey taking Minnie on a picnic date, only to have his romantic afternoon ruined by Mortimer. The flirtatious mouse is rendered in graphite with color pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper and measures about 6.75'' x 6''. The drawing is labeled 46 in the bottom right. Minor handling and edge wear as well as light age-related toning on the front and back. Faint smudges, three reinforced pegholes, and five additional pegholes added. Good condition overall.
