Description
Scooby-Doo Puzzle Design Drawing Original Art and T-Shirt Design Publicity Cel with Print Group of 3 (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1980s/1977). The immense popularity of Scooby-Doo meant lots of consumer products featuring this mystery-solving Great Dane. Here are two designs meant for consumer use. The first is a concept drawing of Scooby and his diminutive nephew Scrappy-Doo playing ice hockey, with Scrappy getting the puck away from Scoob, done for a jigsaw puzzle. The art is by comic book artist Jack Manning and is in ink over blue pencil on 12.25" x 9.75" paper, with an approximate image size of 9.5" x 7". The notation "30 pc puzzle" is written in the upper left corner. The cel has our heroic hound as a rock star, complete with long hair and an electric guitar; his amp is marked with his name. This is a 2-cel 12 field setup, with the blue background on the second cel and four Pantone swatches on the top cel; overall Scooby/music image is 6.5" x 6", while the blue background measures 9.5" x 7". This was a clothing design, and a print showing this and other Scooby-Doo images on children's sleepwear and t-shirts is included. Art condition is Very Good with minor handling.Auction Info
