Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties "The Disloyal Canadians" RARE First Episode 12-Page Storyboard Original Art (Jay Ward, 1959). "At the close of the 19th century Canada was overrun with Canadians and smugglers! The best Canadian, but worst smuggler was... Snidley Whiplash!" The first Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties segment appeared in episode 11 of Rocky and His Friends 1959. It was wildly popular and ultimately spawned its own series, The Dudley Do-Right Show in 1969. Offered in this lot is the INCREDIBLY RARE, one-of-a-kind original hand-drawn ink and marker storyboards for the very first Dudley Do-Right cartoon. Titled "The Disloyal Canadians", it begins with the introduction of Snidely Whiplash who masquerades as the conductor of a traveling band which is in reality a fur-smuggling outfit. Dudley Do-Right of the RMCP must infiltrate the gang by buddying up with Snidely and hilarity ensures. The storyboard is comprised of 12 pages measuring 14" x 8.5". Each page features six panels measuring 3.75" x 2.75" with captions typed beneath. There are a few edits/additions taped-on along with notations penciled in red. Original storyboards from any Jay Ward cartoon would be considered extremely rare, but an original storyboard from the cartoon that launched some of Jay Ward Productions most popular characters is without compare. This lot provides some serious bragging points. The overall condition of this 66 year-old storyboard is Good with handling and edge wear, and some age-related paper toning.From the Archive of Sam Clayberger and Michael Kadin.
