Description

Mickey's Elephant Mickey Mouse and Bobo Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1936). "Won't Pluto be surprised when he sees you and your swell house! Haha! No no, Bobo, wait! I gotta paint it first!" Mickey distracts the adorable Bobo with a bouncy rubber ball so he can paint the elephant's new house in the David Hand and Hamilton Luske-directed theatrical short Mickey's Elephant. Released on 10/10/1936, this charming cartoon precedes Dumbo by five years, telling the story of Mickey's gift elephant and Pluto's jealousy of the animal. Created for the moment seen at the 1:13 mark of the film, this set of two original animation drawings features undeniably cute depictions of Mickey Mouse and Bobo, rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The drawings measure 4" x 3.25" and 5.5" x 3.5", respectively, and they are numbered 53 and 3 in the lower right corners. Minor handling and edge wear with age-related toning, and the condition is Very Good.
