Description
Mickey's Pal Pluto Pluto and Kitten Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1933). The friendly Pluto licks clean one of the Kitten he previously rescued in this lot that features three fabulous animation drawings from the 1933 Disney animated short Mickey's Pal Pluto. The short, directed by Burt Gillett, saw one of the early appearances of Pluto, showcasing his early character design as seen in this lot. The drawing included are numbered 21A, 25A, and 34 in the bottom right corner, and they show Pluto in drawing 21A and 25A, and the milk-covered Kitten in drawing 34, both seen at about the 1:33 mark of the short. Pluto measures 6.5" x 2.75" in drawing 21A, and 7" x 2.5" in drawing 25A, showing the dog walking forward with his tongue out. The Kitten shown in drawing 34 measures an image area of 2.25" x 1.75", showing the milk splashing. Both drawings are rendered in graphite on 12-field 2-peghole animation sheets, with drawings 21A and 25A presenting reinforced pegholes. Drawing 21A shows some erased graphite lines near the top right corner. Overall, the lot presents minor handling and edge wear from production with light age-related toning.
