Description

The Mail Pilot Mickey Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1933). Mickey's ramshackle mail plane fights the wind and snow, in this great original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing sequence of three. We see the snow-covered plane as it dips down, turns, and flies back up around a mountain; even Mickey's big round ears have snow on them! The sequence begins with drawing number 56, seen in the short at about the 3:18 mark in online viewings; the other two drawings extend the scene and are noted as 78 and 123. The Mail Pilot is considered one of Mickey's best early shorts; it was directed by David Hand and released to theaters on 6/13/1933. These are small but dynamic images, with Mickey's plane averaging 3.5" wide. The art is in graphite with small red pencil highlights; the faint pencil lines on either side indicate the mountain, and are not defects. In Good to Very Good condition with handling and edge wear, and mild age-related paper toning.
