Paul Pelletier Fear Itself: The Fearless #12 Story Page 13 Original Art (Marvel, 2012). A trio of Earth's Mightiest Heroes - Namor the Sub-Mariner, Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers), and Captain America - clear the way for a resurrected Valkyrie (Brunnhilde) to do battle with a powered-up Destroyer. Although the battle is tense, Valkyrie holds her own! Shortly after the conclusion of the Fear Itself crossover event, Marvel launched a new series, Fearless Defenders, that confirmed Valkyrie's bisexuality by having her share a passionate kiss with female archaeologist Annabelle Riggs. This development was carried over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with actress Tessa Thompson portraying a bisexual Valkyrie in live action. This version of the character also confidently pushes the boundaries of gender stereotypes by adopting the title 'King Valkyrie' after ascending to leadership of New Asgard. Graphite over blue pencil on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Light smudging/handling wear. Signed and dated by Pelletier in the bottom margin.
