Description

Jeffrey Catherine Jones Jungle Jim #21 Unpublished Story Page 21 Original Art (c. 1967). A mystery-page from the wayward history of Jungle Jim as a comic-book franchise, by pioneer trans comic artist, Jeffrey Catherine Jones. This maverick piece, featuring a Conan-style barbarian, climaxed a back-up tale intended for a Jungle Jim #21, announced for 1967. However, there never was an issue #21 (or even a #20) from the Dell imprint, and the Charlton Comics version picked up with issue #22 in 1969. (There was a foreign-label Jungle Jim that had an issue #21 around this time.) Another Jones "Balor the Barbarian" story graced Charlton Bullseye #1 in 1975. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.75" x 15.5". Slight toning, editorial marks/notes, and light smudging/handling wear; otherwise, in Excellent condition.
