Description
Pocket Monsters Ao - VGA 90+ NM+/MT Unopened [Store UPC, Later Production], Game Boy Nintendo 1996 JPN. VGA's September census lists just 21 unopened copies of Pocket Monsters Ao, with only two graded higher than this near mint example. The box has a small light white spot on the top right of the front cover, but it looks great overall. An enhanced successor to Pocket Monsters Aka and Midori, Ao featured refined graphics, improved sound quality, and vital bug fixes that smoothed out the original gameplay. It also rebalanced the adventure by adjusting wild Pokémon encounter locations and adding version-exclusive creatures-further encouraging trading between versions to complete the Pokédex. Most notably, Ao served as the blueprint for the international releases of Pokémon Red and Blue, making it a foundational title in the franchise's worldwide rise to prominence.Auction Info
