Black Mask #128 August 1929 (Pro-Distribution) Condition: GD/VG. Fred Craft cover for "Fly Paper" by Dashiell Hammett, starring the Continental Op. This issue also features stories by hard-boiled greats Erle Stanley Gardner and Raoul Whitfield, as well as two ads for "The Maltese Falcon" appearing in the following issue, calling it the "greatest issue" and the story "best of its kind", among other superlatives. Bookery's notes as "uncommon at best", and this is one of many rare detective pulps in this sale we've never seen before!
